Ms. Harris - Math and Science

February

We have just passed the halfway point of this school year.  It seems as if it is flying by!  Third marking period started with a clean slate for all students and I hope they continue to focus on learning and being successful.

In science we are starting into Astronomy and in Math exploring new topics leading up to the state testing in May.

As always, please encourage your children to take advantage of the conference period after school (2:45-3:15) to ask any questions or just get a head start on homework.
Sincerely,
Ms Harris

Meet the Challenge!

Clipart of a pencil; Size=135 pixels wide

Once or twice a month there will be a challenge problem here for you to solve. Attached to the problem is a due date. It must be brought into class or emailed to me at msharrisnj@yahoo.com by the end of that school day. Correct answers will count for extra credit points.

(Due 2/28)

I am traveling to my brother's house for spring break.  I need to be there at 6:00 pm.  His house is 510 miles away.  If I travel at 60 miles per hour, what time do I need to leave? (Pretend that I don't make any stops)
